With this mod the., Press Q or E on Keyboard or i think left and right on the DPad on Controller to change between upgrading Cargo or Technology slots. You will find "Drop Pods" on the planet's surface. These will allow you to add one additional slot for each pod you find. They are tough to find, and early in the game they are crucial.
