Baffle strikes. Recently installed a Delta P Design adapter and Surefire 762-211c muzzle brake and got pretty severe baffle strikes just leaving the muzzle. Installed a JP large profile compensator and had the same result. Cycling was a non-issue. Removed the Delta P adapter and installed the original SOCOM muzzle brake and no issues whatsoever. Any ideas?

Out of frustration we continued to shoot the 147 nato round after re-attaching the can and inspecting the unfired rounds. We continuously missed the target we were using to zero. The surefire rep who I spoke with said this means we were still having baffle strikes if we were still missing. I'm a little lost and searching for insight.

It was due to a buddy not tightening it all the way down on the xeno flash hider of my AR. He loosely threaded the damn thing on, I had no idea he even took it off and attempted to put it back on.Depends on the damage. If it's just the baffle stack they can cut it off and weld a new stack. I always recommending running guide rods especially the first time using the suppressor. It is a small investment to save a larger investment. I have seen them save numerous suppressors from baffle strikes. I'm not sure with AAC adapters but I know with other brands there is special instructions when installing adapters on tbe SCAR 16 and 17Depends on the damage and type of can. End cap strikes with no baffle damage is simple. Sometimes you can replace the baffles/internal and still have the same s/n such/tube. Sometimes it's worse and it's a complete replacement with a wait. Some modern 3d printed types always have to be completely replaced every time. (To the best of my knowledge)Probably not, but if someone has a baffle strike with a $1800 welded titanium 300-sd AAC can this philosophy probably makes perfect sense at that point to the person involved when they realize the product is not repairable or that the repair will cost half the full retail price. IIRC, ideally, the space between the projectile and the baffle should be around .020” (or .040” bigger than the projectile). So for a 6.5mm projectile the math should be something like .264+.040 = .304. A 5/16 drill (.3125), 7.8mm drill (.3071) or 7.7mm (.3031) drill should do the ..., It does not matter how well a suppressor aligns to its QD mount, if the mount is not absolutely concentric and aligned with the bore, baffle strikes are a real probability.
